If you appreciate my work and would like to support me with a small donation you can click on btn_donate_SM.gif button.
If every happy user of this rom would just donate something I could invest more time in all these Android projects.

Bugs

Bug Submission form is found here. Please do not post bugs in the thread comments. Here is a list of submitted bugs, please check it before submitting your own. Please don't ask for an ETA on bug fixes or ROM updates, it is always frowned upon in every Android community. Also, some bugs probably will not get fixed, as of now here are some:

Features

* USB GPS support (cp210x and pl2303)
* Xbox 360 gamepad support (xpad)
* PS3 USB gamepad support (hid-sony)
* Generic / chinese (Pantherlord / GreenAsia) gamepads support (hid-pl and hid-gaff)
* OpenVPN support (tun)
* Veno congestion control algorithm
* USB audio (untested)
* (optional) USB bluetooth

* Airplane mode will go on when the screen goes off and turn off when the screen comes back on, if you don't like this feature then add "ro.disable_auto_airplane_mode=1" to the build.prop

Install Instructions

Follow the device specific instructions. Here you find the patches that modifies the open source part, while the device tree is not public, there's just the jb-mr1 one on my github. Don't ask for jb-mr2 device tree because I won't release it.

Respect Notice:

In order to get the best support possible, please do not re-host or mirror this Firmware (exclusively released on Dragondevs.) The downloads are analyzed to determine future update requests and the level of support.

CT Haven't got a chance to check out your rom yet but just curious why you used feiyu 0506v4 instead of v5
Cheers

it's a typo, it's actually v5, gonna fix it now

Hello, again.

I'm finishing my first test with this rom, and I've found other issue, don't know why but some apps like appextractor, doesn't find busybox, but busybox is in fact installed as I can use it in terminal, perhaps it's a non standar location of busybox?

everything is ok in CM 10.1.

is you root settings set to adb + apps? maybe that app doesn't support 4.3

2013-08-23

* Fixed newer YouTube video playback

* Fixed an issue with WifiShutdownLock that was keeping the device awake when the WiFi was manually turned off.

* Updated upstream sources

#18477 [Rom/Firmware] AndroNoob custom firmware for N70HD (last update v9: 2/25/13)

Posted by andronoob on 24 January 2013 - 01:20 AM

=== WARNING !!! WARNING !!! THIS FIRMWARE IS PROVIDED AS IS WITH NO GUARANTEE WHATSOEVER. YOU ARE TAKING YOUR OWN RISK USING IT!!! ===

Not satisfied with any firmware solutions at the moment, I have decided to make my own. Official firmware is bloated, not root, etc. Tianlong has only 1GB and is lagging official releases. Ferirros has some bloat and takes a long time to boot.

This thread will keep things up to date but also document the whole process to rebuild my custom firmware for several reasons. First other people might be interested to experiment on their own. Second some level of scrutiny will help improving it. Third because I might not have the time to continue maintaining that project at some point.

=== CURRENT FEATURES - v9 ===

= Based on official 20130113 (supports charging when off)
+Fastest boot with only 18s from boot Chinese text to screen lock/home screen
+Smallest downloadable firmware (only 153MB!)
+Fixed recent apps thumbnails (only firmware with this fix as far as I know)
+Battery usage patch by d1dave (http://dragondevs.co...isnt-available/). If you go in settings/battery now you have correct data instead of an empty screen.

+160 dpi

+Fix to enable USB host (some people use 3G dongles)
- Removed chinese widgets from home screen
- Removed all bloatware Chinese apps (ECalendar_v3_136_CS_YDSM_20120918, Ireader_yuandao, QianxunKankan, yuandaoPAD.v3011)

- Removed optional Android stuff (pittpatt, CalendarProviderGoogle, Chrome, ChromeBookmarksSyncAdapter, com.google.android.marvin.talkback, FaceLock, Galaxy4, Gmail, GoogleBackupTransport, GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter, GoogleContactsSyncAdapter, HoloSpiralWallpaper, HTMLViewer, MagicSmokeWallpapers, Maps, MediaUploader, NoiseField, PhaseBeam, Phone, Street, TelephonyProvider, Velvet, VisualizationWallpapers, VpnDialogs, WAPPushManager)

5. If you see your device connected and green, browse to select the .img file by pressing the button with ...

1. Download latest firmware from here
2. Download N70HD-ImgTools archive from here
3. Unpack the firmware archive in the same directory you unpacked the tools. Drag and drop .img file onto Unpack.bat
4. Run "Patch.bat 2GB" without quotes. What is done is all documented within Tool\rk30xx_rom_tools.lua
5. Drag and drop same .img as step #3 onto Pack.bat

#24887 How to get better battery life out of your tablet and how to remove cell standby

Posted by fuser-invent on 11 September 2013 - 03:03 PM

Again, this information is based on the Amlogic tablets I work with but some of it will work on other tablets as well. It doesn't seem to work with CyanogenMod builds though, only stock based ROMs and only some of them, so you will need to experiment on your own. Some of these settings will also make it so you can't use 3G Dongles or Ethernet.

Build.prop edits

hw.nophone=true

You have a tablet, not a phone, so with this edit your device now knows that.

hw.hasdata=false

As far as I remember this turns off cellular/mobile data and might also get rid of the cell signal icon.

hw.hasethernet=false

If you don't use an Ethernet connection via OTG cable then you might as well turn this off.

ro.carrier=wifi-only

Tells your device that it is a wifi-only device.

wifi.supplicant_scan_interval=240

This is how often your Wifi will scan for a signal. The number is in seconds and if you are pretty much always using the same wifi you can set it to be much longer. You can also go into the wifi part of your system settings to scan manually if you change locations.

Apps To Help Manage Your Battery

There are plenty of apps that kill your battery because they are constantly syncing. You'll have to figure out which apps are doing this yourself but as an example, if you don't use Google Hangouts on your tablet then you should go into the app and sign out or uninstall it. You can use apps like Juice Defender (I use the Ultimate paid version) to help manage your wifi and other battery settings. There are also apps like Greenify that can help you control individual apps that are causing battery drainage issues.

Removing Cell Standby

Thanks to 2012katas for pointing this out. It's something that I used to do often but haven't paid attention to lately because my tablets are often plugged in and I travel with a Nexus 7 2013 that has a very long battery life. If you have a tablet and use it as a tablet, you probably don't need the cell apps draining your battery all the time. I've found that all of the Amlogic AML8726-MX Series Tablets I've used have had major issues with cell standby and massive battery drain but you can delete or disable the system apps that do this.

I'm going to use ROM Toolbox Pro in my example because it is my favorite app for this kind of thing but there is also a free ROM Toolbox Lite version or you can use any root browser and delete the .apk manually. The .apks are in the /system/app/ folder and usually called Phone.apk and TelephonyProvider.apk or something very similar. Don't mistake Phone.apk with Phonesky.apk which is the Google Play Store App. In an app like ROM Toolbox, the name of the app may be different than the .apk name, for example, in CyanogenMod on my Ainol Hero, the Phone.apk is called "Mobile Data" and the the TelephonyProvider.apk is called "Mobile Network Configuration." Both have a phone icon and the actual name can be found by selecting the App Details. Once you've identified the apps in your App Manager program like ROM Toolbox, you can choose to Uninstall or Freeze the app. I usually freeze apps because I have plenty of space but if you are short on space you can uninstall them.

System Settings

  • Location settings can drain your battery faster, so if you don't need them, then you can turn them off.
  • Changing your Advanced Wifi Settings to Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep "Never" or "Only When Plugged In" can dramatically increase your battery life. Especially if Wi-Fi is keeping your tablet from entering deep sleep which happens with quite a few foreign made devices.
  • Turn Bluetooth off when you aren't using it.
  • Under the Display setting, reduce your Brightness if you are okay with it being a little more dim. A lot of the battery when the tablet is on is eaten up by the display.

-----

That's pretty much all I can remember at this point. I no longer have a tablet running stock based firmware but I looked back at a lot of my old notes and grabbed what I could for this post. Hope some of it helps.

#15708 [recovery] TWRP v2.6.0.0

Posted by ChristianTroy on 15 November 2012 - 10:41 AM

If you appreciate my work and would like to support me with a small donation you can click on btn_donate_SM.gif button.
If every happy user of this rom would just donate a couple per month I could invest more time in all these Android projects, it'd cost you just like one coffee per month.

fcVCGl.jpg

Instructions

* Flash the zip straight from CWM/TWRP recovery if you wanna put it on the NAND, otherwise unzip the file and put uImage_recovery on the root of a MicroSD Card. If you can't reboot to recovery from Android it's because the flashed image is too big and can't be flashed on the NAND so you'll have to use the MicroSD way.

EXT4 and "datamedia" layout (v2.6.0.0)

Once you've booted into this new recovery flash the zip or you will screw things if you reboot to recovery from android.

* Aurora-II, Elf-II, Crystal (1st / 2nd batch) (When you run it for the first time after coming from the UBIFS version do a wipe of "system", "cache" and "data" partitions from "wipe -> advanced wipe" menu to fix them, remember that everything will be deleted!) use this on 4.3 roms
* Fire TM (for JellyBean 4.2 and comp zip >= 1.4 and based on stock 4.2.1 kernel)
* Fire QM (for JellyBean 4.2 and comp zip >= 1.4 and based on stock 4.2.1 kernel)
* Fire TM (based on Feiyu 0506v5 4.2.2) use this on 4.3 roms
* Fire QM (based on Feiyu 0506v5 4.2.2) use this on 4.3 roms
* Fire NewPanel (based on Feiyu 0506v5 4.2.2) use this on 4.3 roms
* Hero (based on Feiyu 0506 4.2.2) use this on 4.3 roms

UBIFS (v2.4.1.0)

* Elf-II, Aurora-II, Crystal (1st or 2nd batch) crystal users only: use this on 4.3 roms
* Crystal (3rd batch) use this on 4.3 roms
* Fire TM (for JellyBean 4.1/4.2 and comp zip >= 1.3)
* Fire QM (for JellyBean 4.1/4.2 and comp zip >= 1.3)
* Hero (1115 firmware)
* Hero (1219 firmware)
* Hero (0128 firmware)

Who has switched internal/external memory should use one of the following recoveries to be able to backup / restore .android_secure correctly

* Elf-II, Aurora-II, Crystal (1st or 2nd batch)
* Fire TM (for JellyBean 4.1/4.2 and comp zip >= 1.3)
* Fire QM (for JellyBean 4.1/4.2 and comp zip >= 1.3)
* Hero (1115 firmware)
* Hero (1219 firmware)
* Hero (0128 firmware)
* Crystal (3rd batch)

Christian
You have my full support in any decision regarding your ROMs.
The main reason why I bought Ainol Hero is your support and making AOKP. I think it is most important that you are satisfied with the ROMs that you built.
I am very grateful to you and Fuser-invent for all the help you provide.

130116-EDIT:
--- It seems that this ROM has a higher battery drain than TianLongV2 !!! ---

!!! I used to try a new ROM:
- CWM flashed if not using a ROM which has it
- Start CWM and backup
- Connect to PC and copy the Clockworkmod (I dont know the exact word at this moment) directory onto the PC.
- Flash the new ROM
In this mode I can restore any older or favorite ROM if the new is not enough good.

I'm using that at this moment, and it is works, not so more experience/opinion yet!
First start was horrible long, I thought that it was not start anymore, but it is alive.

Antutu 3.0.3 = 11600, Nenamark2 = 47.5fps and Quadrant = 4300 scores.
